Mysterious Girlfriend X is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Riichi Ueshiba. Originally published as a one-shot story in August 2004, it was serialized in Kodansha's seinen manga magazine Monthly Afternoon from March 2006 to September 2014. Its chapters were collected in 12 tankōbon volumes. The manga is licensed in North America by Vertical. The series follows a boy named Akira Tsubaki who knows next to nothing about girls, along with a new transfer student named Mikoto Urabe, a mysterious girl who wears a cold facade. Their first encounter takes a turn for the romantic.
