The Expanse is an American science-fiction television series that premiered on December 14, 2015 on Syfy. The series was developed by Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby based on the series of novels written by Daniel Abraham and Ty Franck under the pseudonym James S. A. Corey. Set in a future in which humanity has colonized the Solar System, the show follows United Nations executive Chrisjen Avasarala, police detective Josephus Miller and ship's officer James Holden and his crew as they unravel a conspiracy that threatens peace in the system and the survival of humanity.
